Faculty Development Day Fall 2017 – Afternoon Session:
Motivate your Lion Learners: Build a “Nudge” Campaign
As the semester approaches, the Faculty Enrichment team is excited to facilitate a learning session where we can reflect on the successes and challenges of the students from previous semesters.
Could we have “nudged” a student by sending a short email to help him stay motivated? Could we have facilitated more frequent review sessions for a particular group of learners?
On the Fall 2017 Faculty Development Day, come and take action building your own “nudge” campaigns and leave with specific ideas you can implement this fall.
Faculty Learning Outcomes
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify characteristics of at-risk and on-track learners
- Identify key habits of at-risk and on-track students
- Relate nudging actions that you can take to key student habits
- Craft at least 2 “nudge” campaigns
- Strategize on campaign deployment
We will serve light afternoon refreshments that will re-energize you during the mid-afternoon break.
What To Bring
To get the most out of your learning, you may wish to bring along grading records of at least one class you taught last spring. You may bring your electronic or paper gradebook, or if you leveraged the built-in gradebook tool in Lions SHARE Courses, you may simply access your course offering on your computer.
